Carolyn’s entire career has centered on the interior and architectural design field since 1967. She has gained extensive business acumen through her career as an art gallery docent, manager of antiques gallery, buyer for a home furnishings store, director of a builder’s supply department and principal of her own firm. Her business education at Missouri University and with the New York School of Design were the building blocks for her business career.

Since 1982, she has owned and operated Carolyn Franklin Interior Design, Inc., a design studio whose clients included developers, builders, corporations, and home owners. Carolyn is licensed as an Interior Designer in the State of Florida, Department of Professional Regulations Board of Architecture and Interior Design.

Carolyn has been a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) since 1975 and has served on the board of this organization as Area Chairman, Newsletter Chairman, and Nominating Chairman. She also serves on the advisory board of Seminole Community College for the Interior Design department. The National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ) has asked her to judge student-qualifying examinations and in 1999 she served as Nominating Chairman for ASID Area V.

Community involvement includes Designer’s Showcase homes for the Orlando Opera Guild, Council of 101 benefit functions for the Orlando Museum of Art, the Maitland Art Center, and the Central Florida Women’s League.

Carolyn writes a quarterly design article for Hearn Publications , and they feature her design travels throughout Europe.
